50 YEARS OF TCV SCHOOL

Tibetan Children's Village School (TCV) is the premium school for the Tibetans in exile which was established in 1960. It was initially incepted by Ms. Tsering Dolma, elder sister of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala to look after the well being of the Tibetan children. That time, it was called Nursery for Tibetan Refugee Children and had only 51 children who came from road construction camps in Jammu. Over the 50 years, TCV spread high and wide across India from Ladakh in the north to Bylakuppe in the south. At present, TCV has 6 residential schools, 3 day schools, 4 vocational training centers, 4 youth hostels and 1 college, with the total strength of more than 16 thousand students.
This year, TCV school is celebrating its 50th aniversary of deliberating excellent services interms of education and knowledge, I would like to congratulate all the administrators, staff and students on this historical moment of my alma mater.
May the motto of TCV (Others before Self) enshrines firmly in the hearts of all students of TCV.
Since the school is running solely on the support of donors, that too by Sponsoring a child at US $40 per month. Your contribution and support will immensely help the future of Tibetan children by giving qaulity education. Majority of the students in TCV Schools are either escaped from Tibet, orphans, semi orphans or belong to poor families in Tibetan settlements in exile.
