FREE TIBET SAVE INDIA BIKE RALLY

17 October 2010, National Campaign for Tibetan Support, Wardha organized a bike rally to show their support for the Tibet cause. More than 60 bikes with around 120 supporters started their bike rally from Wardha to Nagpur, which was flagged off by Prof. Suresh Deshmukh, Member of Legislative Assembly of Wardha constituency. The theme of the bike rally is "Free Tibet, Save India". This bike rally was launched during Dashehra, coinciding with 54th Anniversary of Dr. Baba Sahib Ambedkar's Dharmachakra day at Dishabhumi, Nagpur. More than 15 lakhs of Ambedkar's follower from all over india conglomerate and meet at Dishabhumi on Dashehra, which will be celebrated for three days.

After reaching Nagpur, President of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Women's Association, Tibetan Norgeyling Settlement received them with Khatak, and later ended the rally at Dishabhumi. At Dishabhumi, National Campaign for Tibetan Cause installed a stall, where Tibet related leaflets on Marathi, HIndi and English were distributed. Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Women's Association, Tibetan Norgeyling Settlement, Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society, Nagpur and Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society Bandhara helped in distributing leaflets to the masses.

This is the third consecutive year of bike rally which, National Campaign for Tibetan Cause, a Tibet Support Group in Wardha organized over the years.

ALL ENDS WELL: INDIA'S COMMONWEALTH GAME

Today, India did a splendid end of the Commonwealth Game in Delhi with prom and much festivities during the Closing Ceremony. The lighting was superb, laser rays were sharp, crowds were overwhelming, sportmen with glittering medals, cultural troupes with colorful dresses and spectacular shows filled the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Military parade was one of a kind, which makes all Indian proud of their forces.

Game started well and ended well too, despite some pregame controversies and mishaps. Indian players deserve a full round of applause for making India ranking second to Australia, marking a record of 101 medals under their belt. Congratulation to all the Indian players. You guys are heroes of India, the great nation.

I manage to take photos of the firework of the closing ceremony from my rooftop, where I waited for almost two hours. I nearly missed the show, when I returned to my room to check the television of the closing ceremony. Luckily, I got on time to the roof and was able to click some photos. The air is dusty and smoked. It was not a clear sky, even though, there wasn't any clouds above.

THANK YOU INDIA, 50 YEARS IN EXILE

In New Delhi, the Tibetan Government in Exile in collaboration with India International Center (IIC) organized a five day program to commemorate 50 years in India with the title, 'Thank You, India, 50 years in Exile'. This program is to thank the people and government of India for supporting Tibetan cause for the past 50 years in rehabitating and reestablishing the Tibetan community in India. 

During the program, the Tibetans show cast their aged old culture through exhibitions, cultural shows, talk series and documentary film screening.

FIRST SCENE OF MUMBAI

I believe everyone has a plan of visiting the majestic Gateway of India, Mumbai which is the epicenter of India's commercial businesses and ofcourse, how can I ever forget the world largest film production, our own bollywood where most our superstars tangle around with heroine for atleast about half an hour in each movie, if I bluntly exaggerate. When we generally talk about Mumbia, we always come across those high profile actors and business centers but never thought of what is going on with the rest millions who are struggling thier life to feed their families on the daily basis. 

I came to Mumbia for the first time and interestingly, landed in the middle of Kalyan, a busy place which is little far from Central Mumbia. The hotel where we stayed is one of its kind with a huge window without  a glass, where we can observe the busy market even in the midnight. It was just like watching a movie on a gaint screen. The sound of traffics, trains, market, commuters, passerby, dogs and others along with big kisses of mosquitoes left us with little sleep. I can proudly say that India too has a place where the city never sleeps. But here in this part of the world, I can say that this city never sleeps and never let us sleep quitely. 

It was also funny that we boarded an autorickshaw last night and we need not have to tell the driver where we were going. The driver knows and dropped us right at place where we are suppose to go. Truly unbelievable!!

The vegetable market beneath our hotel starts early around 5.00am and with no sleep,  I thought to take some shots from our glassless window, where we can observe a variety of things, such as cows, rickshaws, trains, buses, school kids, vendors, and plenty of vegetables..

BANNED ON SMOKING

The government of India recently banned smoking in public places but due to its difficulty in implementing the ban, smoking in public places are prominently seen at large though the panalty for smoking is adopted as high as Rs. 200. Today, the Delhi Government also made an announcement in the newspaper which says that the shopowners must inform the concerned authority of people smoking near their shops, if not the shopowner shall be fined. 

His Holiness inaugurates Eye Operation theater in Meerut

10 Nov. 2008-ITCO, His Holiness the Dalai Lama today inaugurated New Eye Operation theater of Kalyanam Karoti Hospital in Meerut at around 10.30 am. The program was organized by Kalyanam Karoti under the chairmanship of Shri Kul Bhushan Bakshi ji. Many local dignitaries, guests, patients, Tibetan sweater sellers and a dozen of people from Himalayan regions gathered at the program. His Holiness complimented the works done towards helping the poor people by building this eye hospital and had also emphasized on his three life long commitments of promoting Universal Responsibility, Religious inter-faith and Tibet issues during his speech. Other speakers include Shri Bakshi ji, and Shri K. C. Gupta. Shri Bakshi ji later presented an old Indian coin as a souvenir to His Holiness which was said to be dated around 2,000 years old. After the lunch, His Holiness inaugurated the Walking Plaza in Gandhi Bagh which is within the proximity of Ashiana VIP Guest House where His Holiness rested briefly and had lunch. India-Tibet Coordination Office distributed Tibet-related literatures and leaflets to the people gathered at the program. In 1995, His Holiness the Dalai Lama inaugurated Kalyanam Karoti Hospital and since then Kalyanam Karoti has been organizing Free Eye and Handicapped Camp in and around Meerut almost every year during His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Birthday.
